ABSTRACT

Melkersson-Rosenthal Syndrome(MRS) is a rare disease characterized by recurrent facial paralysis, facial edema and furrowed tongue. We decompressed the left facial nerve in a 42-year-old female patient with this syndrome who had had recurrent bilateral facial paralysis & facial palsy about six times and has the typical family history. Total facial nerve decompression seems effective in decreasing recurrent episodes.
