ABSTRACT

Leiomyoma is a benign tumor of smooth muscle cell origin and is one of the most common tumors occurring in the myometrium of the uterus(95%). This tumor is rarely found in the scalp and a review of the literature yields few cases because of the paucity of smooth muscle. We recently experienced a case of leiomyoma which developed in the scalp of retroauricular area in 23-year-old female. It was treated successfully by surgical excision and confirmed as leiomyoma histopathologically.
