Analysis of 335 foreign bodies in the external auditory canals, oral cavity and pharynx, nasal cavities, esophagus and air passage which were encountered in the Suh's ENT clinic, Koyang-gun, Kyungki provinse from May 1988 to April 1991 was presented. 1) Distribution of location was 133 cases(39.7%) in the external auditory canals, 111 cases(33.1%) in the oral cavity and pharynx, 80 cases(23.9%) in the nasal cavities, 10 cases(3.0%) in the esophagus and 1 case(0.3%) in the air passage. 2) Insects were the most frequent foreign bodies in the external auditory canals(35.3%), in the espophagus coins(60.0%) were the most frequent foreign bodies. 3) In the age incidence, most of the patients in the external auditory canals and oral cavity and pharynx were over 20 years old. But in the nasal cavities and esophagus most of the patients were children under the age of 5. 4) In sex distribution, males were prevalent in the external auditory canals and nasal cavities. But females were prevalent in the oral cavity, pharynx and esophagus. 5) The more common site of lodgement in the external auditory canals was left side. But in the nasal cavities, right side was more common. Foreign bodies in the oral cavity and pharynx were mostly found at the palatine tonsils. 6) In duration of lodgement, 43.6% of foreign bodies in the external auditory canals, 62.2% in the oral cavity and pharynx, 46.2% in the nasal cavities and 70.0% in the esophagus were removed within one day.
