ABSTRACT

The skin test and RAST were used commonly in demonstrating the presence of skin sensitizing IgE antibody in the diagnosis of allergic rhinitis. The correlation between skin test and RAST was studied about 3 inhalant allergens(House dust, D. farinae, D. pteronyssinus). The results were as follows : 1) The positive rate of skin test tends to decrease with age. 2) The positive rate of skin test is higher in male than female. 3) The proportion of positive skin test with 3 or more kinds of allergens was 60.8%. 4) The positive rate of RAST in strong positive skin test was 83.0%. 5) The positive rate of RAST in strong positive skin test tends to decrease with age.
