ABSTRACT

Tumors of the parapharyngeal space are relatively uncommon lesions of the head and neck. Tumors involving this space present a formidable challenge to the clinician with regard to both pre-operative diagnosis and the specific technique of their surgical removal. Recently we have experienced a case of neurilemmoma and a case of pleomorphic adenoma originated from minor salivary gland involving parapharyngeal space. They are successfully removed via cervical approach and via cervical-transpharyngeal approach with midline mandibulotomy, respectively.
