ABSTRACT

The distribution of lysozyme was histologically studied in the mucosa of the inferior tubinates. Lysozyme was localized in the serous acini and the serous demilune of mixed glands but not in the mucous acini and goblet cells using indirect immunoperoxidase method(PAP). Histochemically mucous acini were positive for Periodic Acid Schiff. Goblet cells were divided into two groups. Some has acid mucopolysaccharides and others have neutral mucopolysaccharides.
