Laryngo-Tracheal Complications Associated with Endotracheal Anesthesia-3 Cases Reported-

ABSTRACT

There has been increasing reports about the laryngo-tracheal complications associated with endotracheal anesthesia. Three cases of such complications were reported.

Case 1 : 13 years old female ; Developed acute traumatic laryngitis with hoarseness and dyspnea after the appendectomy, patient was recovered in few days after several local treatments and oxygen inhalation.

Case 2 : 28 years old male ; Bilateral recurrent nerve paralysis was occurred after the abdominal surgery. Follow-up was failed because the patient died with another complications.

Case 3 : 47 years old female : Developed Severe membranous laryngo-tracheitis with almost compete obstruction of the glottis after the laparatomy. Emergency tracheotomy was performed and membranous coatings were removed several times by direct laryngoscopy and bronchoscopy from the larynx and upper portion of the trachea. Patient was recovered in 2 weeks.
