An Analysis of 541 Cases of Biopsy at Our Department during Past 5 Years

ABSTRACT

An analysis was performed 541 cases (male 342, female 199) of biopsy suspected tumors at our clinic for past 5 years. The results obtained were as follows ; 1) There were 210 cases of inflammation and 331 cases of true tumors (benign 54, malignancy 277) which were 277 cases (male 189, female 88) of malignancy and 54 cases (male 27, female 27 of benign). 2) Of 277 cases of malignancy, malignant tumor was seen most frequently in larynx showing 93 cases and nose & paranasal sinuses next in order. 3) Of 227 cases of malignancy, squamous cell carcinoma revealed most frequently histologically showing 214 cases and reticulum cell sarcoma next in order. 4) Of 54 cases of benign tumors, papilloma revealed most frequently histologically showing 16 cases and fibroma next in order.
