ABSTRACT |
Primary nasal & pharyngeal tuberculosis is very rare. A 17 year old female came to ENT department complaining crusting in the nose, epistasix & slight nasal obstruction for about one and a half year. On nasal examination, ulceration and granulation with crusting was noted on the inferior turbinate, ala nasi, epipharynx and tonsillar pillar, more severe on the left side. Chest X-ray was negative, Mantoux test : Positive, ESR is 42mm. Biopsy from the nose showed caseous epitheloid granuloma consistent with tuberculosis on histopathological examination. She was much improved after antituberculous medication for about 2 months.
