A Case of Fibrous Dysplasia of the Maxilla

ABSTRACT

Fibrous dysplasia is characterized by fibroosseous lesions that have a tendency to stabilize with cessation of skeletal growth and is unassociated with any disturbance of calcium metabolism. Symptoms usually present in the maxilla between 10 and 20 years of age causing facial disfigurement. A case of fibrous dysplasia is reported, which involve the left maxilla and is consistent with fibrous dysplasia clinically and histologically.
