Carcinoma of Esophagus Developing at the Site of Lye Stricture

ABSTRACT

The cause of esophageal cancer is still unknown in the majority of patients, but preexisting disease of esophagus related to the development of cancer were reported by many authors; e.g, lye stricutre, achalasia, plummer-vinson syndrome, dietary & alcoholic habits etc. Recently the authors had experienced one case of esophageal Ca. with complaint of dysphagia, developing at the site of lye stricutre, which was diagnosed by the esophagogram & esophagoscopic biopsy.
