ABSTRACT

I have reported two cases of the foreign body in the bronchus with pulmonary complication in two children. A 9-year-old boy inhalated a plastic gun-bullet and developed atelectasis of right middle lobe. Another 5-year-old boy inhalated a thumb-tack and developed pneumonia. Diagnosis of bronchial foreign body depends upon a history of inhalation with a sudden episode of coughing. Occasionally inhalated foreign bodies can be followed by some respiratory complications and technical difficulty to remove. The complete removal of the foreign bodies was made through bronchoscopy successfully in two cases.
