ABSTRACT

Paraganglioma is a benign tumor arising from the paraganglionic system, which is formed by numerous collection of neuroepithelial cells scattered in the body. This paraganglioma mainly occurs in carotid body, vagal body, and jugulotympanic area, but paraganglioma of the pyriform sinus is a very uncommon tumor and only a case of Zuckerkandl's organ was reported in Korea. The authors experienced a case of paraganglioma of pyriform sinus in a 25 years old male recently.
