The authors measured various dimensions of the larynx of the twenty four adult cadavers. (male : 15, female : 9). The results were as follows ; 1. Transverse diameter between the greater horns of the hyoid bone : M. 52.58 mm, F. 43.07 mm. 2. Transverse diameter between the lesser horns of the hyoid bone : M. 36.20 mm, F. 30.20 mm. 3. Vertical diameter of the epiglottis：M. 36.90 mm, F. 27.90 mm. 4. Transverse diameter of the epiglottis : M. 29.32 mm, F. 22.08 mm. 5. Distance from the lower margin of the hyoid bone to the thyroid notch : M. 12.83 mm, F. 10.92 mm. 6. Transverse diameter of the thyroid cartilage : M. 50.58 mm, F. 42.58 mm. 7. Distance from the upper margin of the epiglottis to the vocal fold : M. 42.45 mm, F. 34.52 mm. 8. Distance from the upper margin of thyroid cartilage to the lower margin of the cricoid cartilage : M. 34.65 mm, F. 34.61 mm. 9. Distance from the lower margin of the thyroid cartilage to the lower margin of the cricoid cartilage : M. 16.40 mm, F. 10.26 mm. 10. Anteroposterior diameter of the cricoid cartilage : M. 25.32 mm, F. 20.01 mm. 11. Transverse diameter of the cricoid cartilage : M. 30.14 mm, F. 26.94 mm. 12. Length of the vocal fold : M. 11.61 mm, F. 10.40 mm. 13. Transverse diameter of the vocal fold : M. 18.62 mm, F. 18.27 mm. 14. Anteroposterior length of the vocal fold : M. 19.25 mm, F. 16.70 mm. 15. Transverse diameter between the cuneiform tubercles : M. 17.69 mm, F. 13.52 mm.
