Surgical Management of the Facial Bone Fracture

ABSTRACT

Recently the incidence of the facial bone fracture increases. The most frequent cause of transpotational accident and other causes are the fight, falls, recreational accidents, and so on. When facial injuries are caused by violence, injuries to airway and central nervous system should be suspected. The cranial, thoracic and abdominal injuries are not uncommon, and fractures of extremities occur quite frequently. The patient must be evaluated and managed by physicians of all department related to the injuries. Then the patient has the best results. Therefore the head and neck surgeon must manage the patient with facial bone fracture timely as soon as the general conditions of the patient permits. Now authors report 7 cases of the facial bone fracture which were managed successfully from October, 1982 to September, 1984 and discussed these cases with some literatures to multiple facial bone fracture.
