ABSTRACT

Glomus Jugulare tumor was first reported by Rosenwasser in 1945 and all of the intricate temporal bone anatomy, the extent of tumor invasion and tumor vascularity make this tumor difficult to manage. Especially in case of large tumor, most surgeon experienced difficulty in removing this tumor using ordinary techniques. In 1964, Shapiro and Neues developed the new technique, infratemporal fossa approach. With the development of infratemporal fossa approach and introduction of computerized tomography, it became possible to remove this tumor more easily and the tumor can be classified more precisely. Recently, the authors experienced a canal, jugular fossa and middle ear, and removed completely using infratemporal fossa approach. So, we reported this case with review of literatures.
