Tracheal stenosis is uncommon problem among the otolaryngologic field, but becoming increasingly prevalent. A clinical study was performed on 10 cases with tracheal stenosis at department of otolaryngology, school of medicine, Kyung Hee university form December 1984 to April 1988. The following results were obtained ; 1) Among 10 cases, male were 6 cases and female were 4 cases, In age distribution, 4 cases were under 10 years old, 2 cases in 2nd decade and 2 cases in 3rd decade and 2 cases in 4th decade. 2) The causes of tracheal stenosis were prolonged endotracheal intubation 2 cases, congenital double aortic arch 1 case, high tracheotomy 3 cases, tracheal tumor 2 cases and thyroid tumor 1 case. 3) In the length, 6 cases were 1 to 2 cm, 2 cases were within 3 cm, 1 case was within 4 cm and 1 case within 6 cm. 4) The methods used to manage the tracheal stenosis were tracheal resection and end-to-end anastomoasis 7 cases, Laser & stent insertion 2 cases, left aortic arch division 1 case. And we obtained good results except one case with tracheal tumor. 5) In one case, who had 6 cm in length of tracheal stenosis, we were performed tracheal segmental resection and end-to-end anastomosis with supra-laryngeal release procedure and we obtained good result.
