The prognosis of paitents depend on histologic grade, stage and treatment modality, etc. We analyzed 37 patients of mucoepidermoid carcinoma, visited to Korea Cancer Canter Hospital from January 1985 to December 1993 retrospectively. Twenty patients were males, 17 patients were females. The age of the patients ranged between 17 and 75 years, and the mean age was 46.2 years old. The tumors were located at the parotid glands in 14 patients, the submandibular gland in 5 patients, the sublingual gland in one patient and the minor salivary glands in 17 paitents. Histopathologically, the high grade mucoepidermoid carcinoma were 10 cases, intermediate grade were 19 cases and low grade were 8 cases. Tumor staging by AJCC classification, 1992, distributed with stage I 12 cases, stage II 5 cases, stage III 9 cases, and stage IV 11 cases. Most patients were treated by surgery with or without radiation therapy. Overall 5 years survival rate by actuarial method were 58.8%.
