ABSTRACT

Perforation of the nasal septum indicates a direct communication between the both nasal cavity by a hole in the nasal septum. Most nasal septal perforations fortunately do not cause any symptoms, therefore do not require any treatment. But in cases of much crusting and severe nasal bleeding, closure of perforation should be condisered. The aim of the management of septal perforation is to stop the causative disease process and encourage natural healing process of the lesion. But if these do not occur, physician should consider a surgical repair. Although various methods of operation have been tried, the successful closure is still difficult. Recently, we experienced two cases of septal perforation about 1.5×1.5cm, 1.0×1.0cm in diameter which were closed by temporalis fascia and mucosal advancement flap with good postoperative result. So we report these cases with review of the literature.
