ABSTRACT

Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) was introduced by Barany (1921) and described its detail clinical characteristics by Dix & Hallpike (1952). In 1974, Gacek introduced the surgical techniques of singular neurectomy in order to relieve a vertiginous attacks. We have experienced a case of BPPV in a 33 year-old female patient who didn't respond to medical therapy and Cawthorne's exercise. We performed singular neurectomy and relieved vertiginous attack. We report the treating experience of this patient by singular neurectomy.
