ABSTRACT

The problems of esophageal stricture after lye ingestion were still prevalent, although recently their incidence has markedly decreased. Many report were made for clinical signs and symptoms, histopathology, and therapy of esophageal sticture due to lye ingestion. Recently the authors experienced a case of severe corrossive esophagitis after lye ingestion including esophageal stricture and partial stenosis of hypopharynx and naso-orophaynx due to scar which was treated with endless bougination and repair of pharyngeal stensis with a good result.
