ABSTRACT

Self recording Békésy audiometry which was deviced by von G. Békésy in 1947 has been widely used because of its advantage of eliminating tester and testing method factors and of simultaneous recording of recruitment and tone decay phenomenon. The author analyzed the Békésy audiograms audiologically and discussed about the relationship between pure tone and Békésy thresholds. Audiological analysis was done as follow : 1) Classification. (1) Jerger's type classification of Békésy audiogram. (2) Incidence of Jerger's type according to pure tone hearing loss. 2) Ralation between pure tone and Békésy audiogram. (1) Threshold for pure tone and high, middle or low point of Békésy excursion. (2) Threshold for pure tone and interrupted tone. (3) Threshold for pure tone and continuous tone.
