ABSTRACT |
Cases of shot in the face has not been rarely accounted in the otolaryngologic field. With careful history and X-ray examination, diagnosis would be made easily which affords easy removal of foreign body under the various aid like fluoroscope. Complications like facial nerve paralysis could occasionally be accounted in accordance with the shape and location of the foreign body. Authors have recently experienced 2 of the cases. Case 1 : 13 year old male. There appeared 10 match head sized metal foreign bodies at right buccal region which removed under the local anesthesia and the aid of the fluoroscope, and that were approved shot made of lead. Case 2 : 6 year old male. There appeared 18 match head sized foreign bodies dispersed at the left side whole face, ala nasi, upper lip and orbital fossa etc, and that were removed under the general anesthesia with same procedure for 4 times. |
