ABSTRACT |
A neurilemmoma is an encapsulated and solitary tumor of the Schwann's sheath of nerve, arising in cranial, symphathetic or peripheral nerves. Neurilemmoma of the tongue is, especially, very rare. We have recently experienced a case of neurilemmoma arising in the tongue base on the left side. The patient was a 20 years old male who had noticed incidentally a mass on the tongue himself without any specific symptoms. The tumor was completely enucleated with peroral route under the local anesthesia.
