ABSTRACT

Cerumen gland tumors are unusual clinical and pathological entities. The growth of these tumors is extremely variable. Four morphologic groups have been described, which are as follows : (1) ceruminous adenoma : (2) ceruminous adenocarcinoma (3) adenoid cystic carcinoma ; and (4) pleomorphic adenoma. Adenomas are not locally aggressive, but the carcinomas exhibit a potential for local invasion and distant metastasis. Treatment of choice is wide surgical excision because of the known tendency for these to recur.
