ABSTRACT

Epithelial-myoepithelial carcinoma(EMEC) is a very rare from of salivary gland carcinoma. Although histologically this neoplasm exhibits high degree of cellular differentiation, it is considered to be a carcinoma because of its infiltrative and destructive growth pattern, foci of necrosis and tendency to metastasize. Recently we expreienced a case of epithelial-myoepithelial carcinoma of parotid gland involving the skull base and the mastoid cavity, which was removed via transcervical and infratemporal-suboccipital approach.

Keywords: Epithelial-myoepithelial carcinomaParotid neopasm.
