Primary carcinoma of external auditory canal is rare, but is frequently accompanied by chronic otitis medias and highly invasive into neighbouring structure at an early stage. Treatment in the past has varied from local excision to attempt radical en block resection. Radiation therapy has been employed alone, or in combination with surgery. But in most cases the prognosis is relatively poor. This report is based on our recent experiences, and concluded that early aggressive management by combined therapy can improve the prognosis.
