ABSTRACT

By use of the ILO88 Otodynamic Analyser designed by Kemp, 18 albino guinea pigs(36 ears) with normal middle ear and Preyer reflex were tested for the study of characteristics of click-evoked otoacoustic emissions(CEOEs). The detection rate of CEOEs was 91.7 percent(33 ears). The mean threshold of stimulus for CEOEs was 24.8dB test gain(108.8dB peak SPL) with a range of 10dB to 30dB test gain. The multiple peak response patterns were observed in spectral analysis. Test-retest reliability was statistically confirmed with a concept of coefficient of variation in 22 normal guinea pigs(22 ears). From this study, the properties of emissions were investigated in normal guinea pigs and the test stability of CEOEs was statistically confirmed.
