Primary tuberculosis of the submandibular gland is rare and difficult to diagnose clinically. The dignosis is made by history, physical examination, chest X-ray, skin test, sputum smear & culture, but finally by the histopathologic examination. Recently the incidence of nontuberculous mycobacterial infection is increasing. Treatment of mycobacterial infection of the submandibular gland is excision of the gland and involved periglandular nodes with antituberculous chemotherapy for 1 to 2 years.
