On the Rhinoplastic Submucous Resection

ABSTRACT

Deviation with the caudal end of the septal cartilage protruding into the anterior naris has been the annoying lesion which is the cause of many failures is submucous resection of the nasal septum and require a special operation, so-called, Rhinoplastic Submucous resection, (R.S.M.R.) to be successful the cartilage must be re-moved and replaced in the midline. In the Korea, this procedure has not been well acquainted because we thought there a not so many case indicated for Rhinoplastic submucous resection-among oriental people with flat nose. However, we found cases who need R.S.M.R. for last one and half year. The author introduced the technic of this opration and briefly reported 7 cases who have been done R.S.M.R. during one and half year in Dongsan Presbyterian Hospital in Tai-Koo.
