Treated 13 Cases of Malignant Tongue Tumor

ABSTRACT

13 cases rather advanced malignant tumor of the tongue were taken for surgical excision or irradiation therapy during a 32 months period. A classification according to histologic structure resulted that squamous cell carcinoma was the upper most common type in the tongue, 12 cases among them, and one case of adenocarcinoma. Nine cases among 13 cases of the tongue tumor were taken by four kinds of the surgical excison, three cases by the irradiation treatment, and one case by conservative treatment for control. Five cases are still alive among them during observation period and the other cases had expired due to tumor recurrence.
