ABSTRACT

The septal perforation is a disease which can be relatively often seen in clinics, while many surgical procedures have been introduced to correct this disease. Most of the procedures are so complicated that it's succesibility is very poor and especially not applicable for the large perforation of the septum. Recently in our hospital, we have successfully performed free graft on the perforated area with pathogenic mucous membrane of the maxillary antrum and have not obsered any complication for follow up 3 months.

Case one : A 25 years old male was admitted to the 3rd A.H. with chief complaints of local discomfort, crust formation, occasional pain and bleeding from the perforated margin. On physical examination, large round perforation, 12×13 mm in diameter, which was thought to be due to tuberculosis was noticed on the cartilaginous portion of nasal septum. X-ray film revealed diffuse claudication and mucosal thickening was seen in both maxillary sinuses.
