ABSTRACT

This 61-year-old male patient has had a tumor associated with otalgia at the entrance of the left external ear canal for 3 years which progressively developed into the size of a walnut at the time of admission. Clinical findings revealed no deformity of the auricle, otorrhea or hearing disturbance. Local examination and X-ray findigs showed no significant change which led us to consider this to be a benign tumor. Upon excision and biopsy, this tumor was found to be a squamous cell carcinoma. Since this is believed to be a rare case, we are reporting it.
