ABSTRACT |
A cephalocele is congenital disease consists of a sac of meninges or brain substance, or both, protruding beyond the cranial confines. A meningocele consists of meninges, while an encephalocele consists of protruding brain substance and meningeal lining. It was recorded by Ronald & Emanuel that the incidence of encephaloceles in 1 in 4,000 births, and the sincipital nasofrontal variant is 15% of reported cases. Recently, the authors had observed a patient, 5 months old infant, who complained of progressive growing walnut sized tumor mass on the nasofrontal region. Diagnosis was confirmed with histological study and operation.
