ABSTRACT |
Lymphomas comprise a group of malignant disorders of lymphoid and reticulum cells. Reticulum cell sarcoma of the nose
and nasopharynx is truely a very rare tumor. Author experienced 2 cases of reticulum cell sarcoma of the nose and nasopharynx recently and report these with literatural review.
Case 1 : A 23 years old male soldier suffered from weakness, foul odored bloody discharge from the right nasal cavity and severe frontal headache of one year duration. On X-ray film examination these was cloudiness of the right maxillary sinus. The histopathological findings revealed reticulum cell sarcoma.
Case 2 : A 29 years old male soldier was admitted to the hospital because of nasal pain nasal obstruction and a mass arising in the nasopharynx and occluding choana for 2 years duration. On X-ray film examination there was a destruction of the nasal septum (postero-inferior region) with diffuse
homogenous clouding of the both maxillary sinuses. The diagnosis was confirmed by histopathological study.
