ABSTRACT

Clinical observation for five patients who had chemical injuries due to the explosion of the compressed ammonia. All patients had severe edematous swelling of uvula and glottis in the air way, but the nasal mucous membrane seemed to be intact. Skin erosion and conjunctivitis were also seen in all cases. One out of five expired on the 3rd day of the accident with severe lung edema. Rest of cases were well responded to the local and systemic treatment and discharged in 5-10 days.
