ABSTRACT |
Nasopharyngal angiofibroma is an uncommon benign tumor of vascular fibrotic nature with expansive growth and locally invasive tendency. It is considered clinically malignant because of anatomical relationship, bleeding tendency in surgical procedures and resistance to the treatment. Nasopharyngeal angiofibroma is generally considered to be a lesion which occurs exclusively in adolescent males, but some authors have reported isolated cases in females. Recently the authors had experienced a case of nasopharyngeal angiofibroma in 13-year-old female with longstanting nasal obstruction and recurrent epistaxis. The tumor mass has occupied nasopharyngeal cavity and protrude to the nasal cavity and under free margin of the soft palate. The treatment was done surgically under general anesthesia, On histological examination it was confirmed to be nasopharyngeal angiofibroma. The case is reported after follow-up period of over 3 months.
