ABSTRACT |
The nasopharyngeal fibroma is a relatively uncommon benign tumor found in the nasopharynx of the adolescent male and considered to be one of important disease on otolaryngology. Recently, the author has experienced a case of nasopharyngeal fibroma. A 23-year-old male has been admitted to the our hospital on July 15th, 1970 with chief complaints of intermittent epistaxis, slowly progressive nasal obstruction and rhinolalia clausa since 2 years prior to admission. Physical examination revealed a walnut sized pinkish-red tumor mass in the nasopharynx. On histopathologically it was confirmed to be a nasopharyngeal fibroma, which was completely extirpated through the transpalatal approach under general anesthesia. The postoperative course was uneventful.
