ABSTRACT |
The lymphangioma of the tonsils is one of the very rare benign tumors listed in the literature of the world. Recently we studied a lymphangioma, clinically diagnosed in a tonsilla pendula through the pathologic report, and we reported a case in addition to that found in the literature. A 51 year old Korean male was admitted to Yonsei University Hospital on July 16, 1971 under the diagnosis of tonsilla pendula. He had a history of episode a frequent tonsillitis and U.R.I. since 4 years ago. On physical examination there were found tonsilla pendula in right tonsil area without specific complaint. As soon as he admitted bilateral tonsillectomy was performed under local anesthesia and he was discharged without complication. The pathologic finding was reported as lymphangioma of the tonsil.
