There have been many reports for laryngeal malignancies since Morgagni reported first case in 1855. The author has clinically considered for 70 cases of the laryngeal malignancy who had at our Severance hospital been diagnosed during January 1966 to December 1972, and the histopathologically following results were obtained. 1) Average age is 58.4 in years, male-60 and female-56.6, and sex ratio of male female is 5.4 : 1. Predilection age is fifth and sixth decades(77.1%). 2) Distribution of malignancy according to anatomical region is supra-glottic-30.0%, glottic-57.1% and sub-glottic-12.9%. 3) Distribution of malignancy stage according to U.I.C.C.(1968) is stage I-14.3%, stage II-77.1%, stage III-2.9% and stage IV-5.7%. 4) Duration after onset is 55.7% within 6 months. 5) Chief complaint is almost hoarseness in 80.0%, dysphagia in 14.3% and sore throat in 14.3%. 6) Histopathological classification is almost epidermoid cell ca.-97.2%, papillary ca.-1.4% and undifferentiated cell ca.-1.4%. 7) Malignant change from benign tumor is 3 cases. 8) Case who had treatment is 42.8% but almost cases among them had irradiation therapy(31.4%). 9) Metastasis to lymph node is almost cervical and submandibular, and their primary regions are almost supraglottic.
