6 Cases of Ramsay-Hunt's Syndrome

ABSTRACT

The term ""Herpes zoster oticus"" is synonymous with the Ramsay-Hunt syndrome, herpes oticus, cephalic zoster, geniculate ganglion syndrome, geniculate syndrome or geniculate neuralgia. The clinical syndrome of herpes zoster oticus consist of radicular neuralgia around the ear, vesicular eruption on external ear, a paresis of facial nerve, hearing loss, tinnitus and vertigo. Authors experienced 6 cases of Ramsay-Hunt syndrome during last few months. Patients were 2 male and 4 female, all patients complained of otalgia and hearing impairment with vesicular eruption on auricle and external auditory meatus. Good therapeutic results were obtained after antibiotics, prednisolone and ATP had administrated.
