A Rare and Interesting Case of Esophageal Foreign Body from the Viewpoint of Location

ABSTRACT

The lodgement of coins in the esophagus presents the endoscopist with one of the most common foreign body problems. In the location of lodgement, in most cases they were found in the first or second narrowing. Recently we Experienced a rare and interesting case from the viewpoint of location. A 9 months old girl was visited to the Dept. of Otolaryngology, Kyung Hee University Hospital because of regurgitation of food, vomiting and irritability. The X-ray film of the chest P-A view including neck showed a round opaque metalic desity in the area of third constriction which was removed with endoscopy, 5×350 mm cautiously under the general anesthesia.
