ABSTRACT |
Ameloblastoma is a rare form of locally invasive epithelial tumor which exhibits histological features similar in some respects to that of the enamel organ of the tooth germ. This tumor represents only one % of all neoplasms and cysts of the jaws (Small and Waldron, 1955) and is five times commoner in the mandible than in the maxilla. We experienced recentely one case of ameloblastoma of the maxilla which was removed successfully by partial maxillectomy with a wide margin of healthy bone. The histological studies of the specimens were confirmed as ameloblastoma.
