Isolated tuberculosis infection of nasopharynx is very rare. A 30 year old female patient whose medical history had no pulmonary tuberculosis, was admitted to our E.N.T. dept. with chief complaints of nasal obstruction and headache for 3 months in May, 1977. She was chronic ill appearance without weight loss and physical examination revealed mucous secretion in the nasal passage and completely obliterating mass of right choana without ulceration. X-ray examination revealed somewhat hazziness in the both maxillary sinuses and no active lesions in chest. Pathological result from nasopharyngeal mass was verified chronic granulomatous inflammation with central necrosis and a surrounding cuff of lymphocytes. Under the general anesthesia, the mass was removed transorally with tonsil snare without palate incision, measuring 5.0cm×4.0cm×2.0cm in size. Following surgical removal, she treated medically with streptomycin 1.0gm, I.N.H. 600mg, Myambutol 800mg, Pyridoxin 100mg per daily in a 37 days period. She has been followed up for 5 months and is symptom free with no local or general signs of recurrence.
