ABSTRACT |
We report two cases of mucocele, which one involved the frontal sinus and the other the maxillary sinus.
Case 1 : A 32-year-old female patient was admitted to the Kyung Hee University Hospital on Dec. 27, 1977 having complaints of exophthalmos and nasal obstruction for 14 months. X-ray study of the maxillary sinus and computed tomographic examination of the skull revealed a huge mass in the left maxillary sinus with definite evidence of bone destruction on the lateral wall of the left maxillary sinus. The case was successfully treated with surgery.
Case 2 : A 45-year-old female patient was admitted on May. 3, 1978 complaining of exophthalmos and frontal headache for 3 years. Inspection and palpation revealed the swelling on the supraorbital region with tenderness. X-ray study for sinus revealed cloudiness on both maxillary sinuses and ill-defined left supraorbital margin. Radical external frontal approach was performed and postoperative course was satisfactory. |
