ABSTRACT

Aspergillus, a fungus of the Ascomycetes class, is worldwide in distribution and commonly found on decaying debris and in soil. Aspergillus is perhaps most frequently encountered as a saprophytic growth within the external auditory canal. The authors have recently experienced a case of aspergillosis of maxillary-ethmoid complex. Histologic examination of the material from the maxillary-ethmoid complex revealed a tangled mass of branching, septate hyphae that were consistent with Aspergillus sp.
