ABSTRACT

About 80% of the patients with vertigo due to an ear disorder has Méniére's disease or endolymphatic hydrops. If the patient has incapacitating or disturbing vertigo in spite of strenuous and extended conservative medical management, several surgical procedures may be considered. Authors experienced a case of Méniére's disease in 43 years old male who had incapacitating vertigo for 16 months in spite of strenuous medical treatment. Following endolymphatic sac decompression, this patient could come back to normal daily social life. A brief history of this case will be presented with the history of endolymphatic sac surgery.
