		| ABSTRACT |

		|
In order to assess hearing impairment in chronic renal failure, authors examined, utilizing pure tone and impedance audiometry, 47 patients(Male : 28, Female : 19) undergoing long-term treatment with hemodialysis at Kang-Nam St. Mary's hospital. The results were as follows : 1) The over-all incidence of hearing loss was 34%. 2) The incidence of clinically significant moderate hearing loss was 4.3%. 3) The type of hearing loss was sensorineural, bilateral, and at high frequency range(over 3 KHz). 4) There was no significant relationship between incidence of hearing loss and times of hemodialysis.
