ABSTRACT |
Rhabdomyosarcoma, a form of soft tissue sarcoma, is a very uncommon highly aggressive malignant tumor originated from mesenchymal cell. In children, rhabdomyosarcoma is the most common soft tissue sarcoma. Head and neck is frequently the site of rhabdomyosarcoma and ear is third most common site of rhabdomyosarcoma, but primary site of auricle and temporal muscle is very rare. Common sites are middle ear and mastoid. Recently we experienced a rhabdomyosarcoma in a 6-year-old female patient originated from auricle and temporal muscle, and we obtained a favorable result by total excision of tumor mass with surrounding structure, and chemotherapy, so report this case with a brief literature review.
