ABSTRACT

The central giant cell granuloma is a benign non-odontogenic tumor seen generally in the mandible of children and young adults. It is an unusual lesion in the maxilla. The clinico-pathological entity of giant cell granuloma was first described by Jaffe in 1953. The subdivision between central or intraosseous and peripheral types was established by Berner and Cahn in 1954. Giant cell granuloma may be consequent to a trauma. Conservative treatment is indicated and adequate for giant cell reparative granuloma. Recently, authors have experienced a case of giant cell granuloma of the maxilla of 3 years' duration in 24 years old female. We report our case and review of current literature.
